Given as an eye drop, Gatifloxacin Ophthalmic Solution 0.3 % & 0.5 % cause very low systemic exposures. 8. It is primarily indicated as a pre-operative ophthalmic solution ) as well as orally for arthritis or dental pain. 9. Reason : Polymyxin B Sulfate and Trimethoprim Ophthalmic Solution USP * is a sterile antimicrobial solution for topical ophthalmic use. 10. Therefore, the systemic exposures resulting from the gatifloxacin ophthalmic solution are not likely to pose any risk for systemic toxicities.
